Inhale, Exhale, Repeat at Breathe Spa

Retreats and getaways are but a dream for a lot of us. Most especially when you happen to be a mom like me who not only works full-time at home, takes care of a toddler, tends to a grade-schooler and also wife to a semi-workaholic husband, but also a daughter, sister, friend, tribe member, and everything else under the sun.

How wonderful would it be to be able to get away and have an hour or two of pampering and relaxation without having to worry about where the kids can spend their time and who will watch over them. I mean, let's be honest...the only "me" time I get is when I'm in the shower. And they're right outside the glass door waiting for me to be done. Waiting as patiently as they can with a question or statement every two minutes.

So needless to say, carving out time in order to pamper ourselves would be one of the most difficult things because...well, we usually put ourselves last. It usually takes someone else to push me to actually find the time and feel less guilty when I do make that appointment for myself.

Thankfully, a beautiful idea came to mind...

Inhale, exhale, repeat...

Three words that we need to embrace throughout our journey of motherhood...and in life.

The past two weeks have been a whirlwind of events with work and family life in between. January seemed too long but when February hits you, it's like a day goes by like a second. Way too fast for anyone to actually catch up. And here I thought I was prepared for 2020, I guess not as prepared as I would like to be.

A few days ago, I had the wonderful opportunity to help out a mum friend who needed volunteers for her massage therapists in training. As it has been way too long since my last massage, I was more than happy to volunteer and got first-hand peek at what she's been brewing. Imagine a place where mums can have their massage and nails done without having to worry about the children being so noisy in the salon, because they're at the wonderfully planned and well-thought of play area. And in the middle of the city too!

A concept thought of by the creative Mummy Ena. She wanted a place where it has everything that a mother may need.

1. A salon to have her hair done
2. A spa where she can have her massage and nails done
3. A yoga studio where she can flow and be in a zen-like state for a class
4. A hotel and function rooms where parties can be held
5. A milk tea shop where kids and adults alike can satisfy their cravings
6. A play area that children can not only have fun but also learn along the way

As mums, we love being able to hit two or even three birds with one stone. Having such a place ensures us that we can carve out time without spending half of the time zipping from one place to another and being stuck in traffic.

Their trademark blue and white Spanish-style tiles will greet you upon entering Breathe Spa

Comfy chairs welcome you while you're having your mani and pedi done, add a paraffin wax treatment to soften those hardworking hands

Beautifully-designed hallway lead you to their peaceful and spacious massage rooms

Breathe Spa will soon open its doors. For that me time that a mum may crave to celebrating a sparty for an upcoming bride's big day, its ambience of simplicity and clean lines will make it your next favorite spot to be at.

Brique 38 is located along Lapu-lapu Street, beside Flatworld Solutions Building.
